Are you using unsalted butter. If you are using salted butter then of course it will taste salty.

I will make the cream cheese frosting again, but without the butter/margarine. Seem like the margarine made the frosting salty. Anyone has a suggestion.
I made this cake last week for work and everyone wanted the recipe. It was so good, I made it again this weekend and it was even better. This is the only carrot cake recipe I will ever use again.

Taste is real good, you can skip the butter if you want to and only use cream cheese and powdered sugar, both ways are safe to use. DON'T use margarine, it will ruin it. Next time I'll try using Baileys Irish Cream instead of vanilla.

It was a little bit too sweet for me, so i think next time i will be using less sugar, maybe 2 cups only instead. I think with a bit less sugar, it would truly be delicious and taste the cream cheese flavor more.
My sister-in-law made this Best Carrot Cake with the buttermilk glaze and this Cream Cheese Frosting and it was delicious. She baked it in a 9"x13" loaf pan. Chill cake in refrigerator before icing with the Cream Cheese Frosting. Yummy!!!

icing is a little runny...maybe i need to add some more conf. sugar....taste delicious though
Far too much of a buttery taste and much, much too runny. I had to add so much more icing to make it useable.
Tastes wonderful. I only used 1/2 cup of butter. Very nice!
